When analyzing the working principle of a transformer, the counteracting effect of the magnetic field generated by the secondary winding current on the magnetic field generated by the primary winding is also called the demagnetizing effect.

The reason for the magnetization of a magnet is as follows: the electrons rotating around each nucleus are seen as a current, and the current generates a magnetic field, and when the direction of the magnetic field is more or less in the same direction (related to the arrangement of the atoms), the whole object exhibits magnetism. The principle of demagnetization is to disrupt the arrangement of the nuclei (vibration, heating to intensify their thermal motion, etc.) so that the atoms are disordered and the magnetic fields cancel each other out and the whole object does not show magnetism.
